Privacy statement
This privacy statement covers the website hollandasia.com. It explains which data we process through this website, why, for how long, and what your rights are.

1Who we are
The data controller is HAC B.V., trading as H.A.C. Holland Asia Connection, located at Rooswijck 5A, 1081 AJ Amsterdam, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 76700518.
Questions about privacy can be sent to [email protected] or by post to the address above.
2The enquiry form
When you fill in the enquiry form, we process the details you provide yourself: your name, your email address, the name of your company or retail channel, and your message.
We use these details only to answer your enquiry and, if you wish, to prepare a quotation or cooperation. The legal basis is that you ask us to do so (taking steps prior to entering into a contract) and our legitimate interest in handling business enquiries.
The form is sent through Web3Forms, an external service that forwards the message to our mailbox. Web3Forms processes your data on our behalf.
3What happens when you visit the website
This website does not set any cookies itself and does not use analytics or advertising services. We do not track what you do on the website.
To display the website, your browser does connect to a number of external services. As a technical necessity, your IP address is visible to them:
- Netlify hosts the website.
- Cloudflare handles network traffic and security for the domain.
- Google Fonts supplies the website's typefaces.
- jsDelivr and unpkg supply the data for the world map in the background.
These parties may temporarily record technical data, such as your IP address, the time and the page requested, in order to provide and secure their service. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in offering a working and secure website.
4Transfers outside the European Union
Some of the services mentioned are based outside the European Union or use servers there. Where that is the case, the transfer takes place on the basis of the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision of the European Commission or the standard contractual clauses.
5How long we keep data
We keep enquiries submitted through the form for as long as needed to handle them, and for a maximum of two years afterwards, so that we know the background if you contact us again. If a customer relationship follows, the retention periods that come with it apply, including the statutory seven-year retention period for tax records.
6We do not sell your data
We do not sell your data and do not share it with others, except with the service providers mentioned above where necessary, or where the law requires us to.
7Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. You can object to the processing, ask for it to be restricted, or request your data in a common format. To do so, email [email protected]. We respond within one month.
If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl. We would appreciate it if you contacted us first, so we can try to resolve it.
8Security
The website is offered exclusively over a secure connection (https). We take appropriate measures to protect the data you entrust to us against loss and unauthorised use.
9Changes
We may update this privacy statement when the website or the law changes. The date at the top shows when the text was last updated.
